Lost hours

I presented my last design work, while wearing a shirt that says "what is design anyway?". Questioning the role of design, subjective understanding of time and how this invisible experience affects all aspects of our lives. We cannot even see or explain how exactly it orchestrates everything we do, until we compare vastly different cultures and find reflections of ourselves by looking at these time sculptures. I used design as a tool to bring forward our intuitive understanding of shapes and interaction and give a chance for visitors to grasp the context of time experience and their personal image within it, without limiting these ideas by words. Much like Kyūdō participants grasp the deeper knowledge without the need for text, avoiding limitations of communication in general.

“Culture hides more than it reveals, and strangely enough what it hides, it hides most effectively from its own participants.”― Edward T. Hall
